ARRA Funds Available 2011

As we close one year and look toward the next, excitement builds for the practices moving towards the next big step in medical technology: Certified EMR’s that qualify for ARRA funds starting in 2011. In a nut shell; if your practice has a patient mix of 30% Medicare or Medicaid and you deploy an ONC certified EMR than you can register to receive per provider $44K or $63K respectfully, over the next five years. The first installment payments are due to be released in May 2011.

Now implementing an EMR just for the ARRA may not be the best use of your time and resources but, if you have been considering the move to EMR than at least the ARRA funds can be used to offset the majority of the startup costs.
