I would like to take this opportunity to discuss with you the exciting area of Reports. There are many reports in NetPractice and many different ways that reports can be processed and worked. I will discuss a couple of reports that can be very useful in assisting you with the needs of your practice.
The first item I would like to discuss is “Active Reports”. These reports are very helpful when working your AR in a more “paperless” fashion. Active reports allow the user to click on them and drill deeper into the report to access information that makes up the totals reflected on the report. With the “Q” that displays next to each patient listed on the Active report you have instant access to the patient’s history screen without ever leaving your report. A complete listing of reports that can be run as “Active” reports can be found at the following location in the “Help” menu. Help> Introduction> Printing in NetPractice PM> Active Report Listing
Now for those of you who look at your reports and find that you have money that is left “Unallocated”. I’m sure you would like to have a report to let you know which patients have unallocated funds so that you can clean up their accounts. Well you are in luck because I have just the report. You will use the “Aged Accounts Receivable” report.
Reports> Aged Accounts Receivable Reports> Aged Receivables by Performing Dr> Begin with Performing Doctor – {NONE} (Make sure to use the curlique brackets)
End with Performing Doctor – {NONE} (Make sure to use the curlique brackets)
Print Detail of Guarantor – Checked
Alpha, Numeric, or High Balance – Use default setting or change to your choice.
Include Address Information – Blank
Print Transaction Detail – Checked
Ending Date for Report – Leave with the default of today’s date
Include Insurance Balance – Check if searching for unallocated insurance funds
Include Patient Balance – Check if searching for unallocated patient funds (most common choice)
Aging Increments – Leave with the default setting
Print from List – Blank
A helpful tip when using NetPractice is to remember how to set your common entries into the fields. When on the window of choice (e.g. the Unallocated report above), click on the “Set System Default” button in the lower right hand corner (icon of paper with red check mark). Once on this window complete the fields with the information that you normally complete. You do not have to mark the fields Fixed or Required for this to have an impact. Once you save you will then have to exit the report and launch it again to see the completed fields.
I hope that these training tips are helpful to you and as always I encourage you and as many staff members as possible to attend the Free Training Sessions we offer at RANAC. The complete schedule can be found at http://ranac.com/TrainingSchedule.html.Please feel free to contact your training department with any questions you have and Lisa or myself will be happy to assist you.
