Helpful Tools Often Forgotten

When you think back to when you first went through training on your computer programs all your energy was focused on just learning how to use the programs in their simplest forms. You wanted to be able to schedule an appointment, post a charge, send a claim, and post a payment. Once time passed those tasks became like second nature to you and perhaps some of the tools discussed in the beginning were forgotten. I would like to take a moment to highlight some of the tools available to you.

Cue Cards – This tool can be used in many different ways. It can be linked to a carrier, to a billing group, or simply associated with each patient. A hyperlink can be added to the Cue Card that will allow the user quick access to a specific web site. A document can be attached to ensure that each user always has the most up to date version.

Verify Eligibility – This tool is used to send the insurance information to a clearinghouse and in a matter of seconds the clearinghouse will return the most up to date coverage information on the patient. The data that is provided will vary based on the carrier as each provides different information.
*** Note – There is a per transaction fee for this tool and not all users may have access to this feature as it is based on permission levels.

NetCoder – This tool is used to provide the most up to date coding information. Codes can be re-ordered in correct RVU sequence to maximize reimbursement. This tool can be set to run automatically when a charge is entered or it can be set to manual, allowing the user to choose when they want the assistance of NetCoder.
*** Note – There is a subscription fee for this service and can then be used as much or often as needed.

Knowledge Tree – This tool is located in the Support area of the Static Buttons. After logging into the Online Support Center (OSC) then click on Knowledge Tree and then View Knowledge Tree. From here choose the section that best meets your needs. Training documents can be found here.

www.ranac.com – This tool contains information on upcoming training sessions as well as the most current information on products available through RANAC, as well as helpful links to other sites.
